what is this?

Solarium is my current personal project that combines a deck of cards with a mobile app. The app uses your phone's camera to identify each card and displays the corresponding planet or astronomical body in augmented reality, floating above the card. Users can place multiple cards on a surface to directly compare the sizes of different celestial objects, making it an interactive way to learn about the relative scale of the universe.

so what?

Solarium addresses the common misconceptions people have about the scale of celestial objects in our solar system. Many are surprised to learn that the Moon is much smaller than they imagine, while the Sun is vastly larger. By using augmented reality and physical cards, Solarium provides a hands-on, visual experience that allows users to accurately compare the sizes of planets, moons, and stars, helping to correct these misunderstandings and improve their grasp of the true scale of the universe.
